DU 3rd Cut Off list released, more than 23000 seats still vacant

DU (Delhi University) recently released its third cut-off list. Post release of the second list for cut-off, the admissions in SRCC for BCom Honours as well as Economics has been closed. The third cut-off based on merit for the year 2018-19 was released which still left out 23,000 vacant seats. As per the cut-off aggregate, the admission requirements for renowned colleges have scaled as high as 96 percent to 98 percent in the 3rd list. For admission at the Lady Shri Ram College for Economics and English Honours, students with marks above or with 97.25 percent and 97.5 percent were selected for respective courses.

The Hindu College effectively closed its admissions for all the courses except a few which include BA (English & Economics), BSC Chemistry, and BCom (Honours). Here the cut-off for respective subjects was marked at 96.75 percent, 97.5 percent, 96.66 percent, and 97 percent. Most of the colleges have closed off their admission process for BCom and BA. However, students from the science stream can still hope for being selected with the upcoming cut-off lists.

The admission process based on 3rd cut-off by DU shall begin from June 30th which is scheduled to run till 3rd July between 9:30 a.m. in the morning till 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon for the morning colleges. For the evening colleges, the timing is between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Students who are eligible after the 3rd cut-off list for admission need to follow the steps listed below for admission process:

  • Connect to internet and login to DU Admission Student Portal.
  • Now select the course and college according to your eligibility and this will generate an admission form.
  • Approach the respective colleges after you fill up the form completely along with all the documents required for the process of admission.
  • After you obtain the approval of the principal, you need to pay the fee required to confirm a seat in the college.

The very first list of cut-off percentage was released by DU for the year 2018-19 Undergraduate admissions on 19th June. This was followed by the release of 2nd list on 24th June. As per the university, a total of 5 cut-off rounds are scheduled this year. The admission process shall last till 14th July.
