Link your Aadhar with instantly generated e-PAN

If you could not link your PAN with Aadhaar, don’t panic. You can link it today only instantly through e-PAN now, sitting in the comfort of your home.

The income tax department has introduced the facility of e-PAN to the users. This facility will be made available to them on a real-time basis.

This step will help in reducing the interaction with the department. Moreover, it is also aimed at helping taxpayers generate the permanent account number (PAN) without any problem

The department has offered this facility without charging any amount. You can log onto the income tax portal anytime, to generate this unique e-PAN.

The service is available only for resident individual taxpayers. It means, the Hindu undivided family (HUF), various firms, trusts and companies can not avail the benefits of the service. Moreover, this service of the IT department is open for a limited period. It is designed on first-come, first-served basis for those taxpayers who already hold valid Aadhar cards.

Under the new system, you will not need to submit any documents. The e-PAN will be generated using the details available in Aadhaar. You just need to ensure that the details are properly updated. It is necessary because the e-KYC will be done using the Aadhaar database only.

Under the process when the e-KYC will be successfully generated based on the individual Aadhaar OTP, then the process of e-PAN application will be initiated.

All it needed will be a scanned copy of your signature on a white paper. The proper specifications are given on the income tax website.

After filing the application, an acknowledgement number will be generated, which will be in 15-digits. This generated number will be sent to the individuals’ mobile number or email address, whichever is mentioned in the application form.

It has been happened only due to use of the technology and digitalization being adopted by the government in the various tax departments. The system of digitalization has now resulted in convenient and paperless smoothness with taxpayers. A number of other initiatives, to smoothen the system are on the cards in the coming days. this will make the life of taxpayers easy for managing their taxable income, claims the IT department.
