What are the ways to correct or update your Aadhar Card?

You can make changes to the Aadhar card with ease. Those who have made spelling mistakes in their name while entering the Aadhar card details or who have shifted the house and want to update the address can do so in three ways.

The first way is to go online to the Self Service Update Portal (SSUP) and enter your Aadhar number.  Enter the text verification number. Click on Generate OTP and they will send an OTP to your registered mobile number. Using this you can log into your Aadhar account. This helps prevent manipulation of the Aadhar account by anyone else.

Now, you go to the Data Update Request page. Here you have to show which part of the information is wrong and what the correct details should be. You should be careful while entering these details, as these will remain in your Aadhar card. Following this, you must update the documents showing the proof that you have entered the correct information. This is in the Documents Required section. Following this, you must go to BPO Service Provider Selection if you are going through a BPO service. Choose the name of your service provider and submit the information.

You can update the information through the post. This is useful for those who are not familiar with online procedures or do not want to use it. Download the Aadhaar Data Update/Correction Form from https://uidai.gov.in/images/UpdateRequestFormV2.pdf. You must fill the form using capital letters only. Make the necessary corrections and then send the form to one of the two addresses given below:
