RRB or the Railway Recruitment Board has recently released an official notice for 4103 vacancies for eligible candidates at the South Central Railway for the year 2018. Candidates seeking jobs can apply for the same via scr.indianrailways.gov.in latest by 17th July. These vacancies have been released by the Secunderabad board for the eligible candidates to be trained as apprentice for various vacancies in the entire South Central Railway division.
The total 4103 vacancies have been divided into posts that include AC Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Carpenter, Electrician, Electrical/Electronics, Fitter, Electronic Mechanic, Machinist, MMTM, MMW, Welder, and Painter.
The posts are divided in the numbers provided below:
Carpenter: 16
Diesel Mechanic: 640
AC Mechanic: 249
Painter: 40
Welder: 597
Electrician: 871
Electronic Mechanic: 102
Electrical/ Electronics: 18
MMW: 24
MMTM: 12

Eligibility Criteria for RRB Recruitment 2018
Educational Qualification:
The candidates need to clear at least SSC/Class 10 board examinations with minimum of 50 percent score.
Age Limit:
The limit for Upper age for any candidate to be eligible to apply for the post must be below 24 years. However, the candidates belonging to SC/ST candidature can apply up to the age of 29 years with 5 years of relaxation while the relaxation term for OBC candidates is three years from the upper age limit.
Selection Process:
The candidates for each post shall be selected based on the marks acquired in ITI or Class 10 examination.
Application Fee:
The application fee for candidates belonging to the OBC and general category is INR 100 while the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Women category have been provided relaxation for the application fee with zero charges for the same.

Exemption:
Candidates with diploma or engineering degree need not apply for the posts stated above as these apprenticeships are governed under a separate scheme.
Physical Standard:
Candidates selected for the posts need to pass a medical examination prescribed by the railway board before commencement of the apprenticeship training.
RRB has made numerous amendments when it comes to the new job notifications. The provision for minimum qualification has been scrapped off in terms of compassion for the widows or wives of its employees who have died during service or retired due to any severe medical issue.
