Omar Abdullah, Jammu & Kashmir’ Former CM has now been released post completion of his 8 months long detention period. As per the tweet by Omar Abdullah, he finally left the Hari Niwas after completing 232 days in detention. However, he noted that the world has changed significantly to the one that he saw on 5th August 2019 before starting his detention.
This tweet was paired with a picture of the Ex-CM along with the order for revocation of detention. Omar was freed on Tuesday after 8 months of detention. The administration nullified the detention against him that was implied under the PSA or the Public Safety Act.
A horde of supporters and media personnel, most of them wearing masks, happened to wait for the Ex-CM after his release. This was the very first reaction by Omar Abdullah stating that everything has changed since August and coronavirus is currently the bigger problem that should be tackled first.
Apart from this, Omar Abdullah also made an appeal to the existing government to grant a release for all the political prisoners. He also asked for restoration of high-speed internet connectivity in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Omar Abdullah also tweeted a picture with both his father and mother stating that he had lunch with them after 8 months.
