Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, wife of Canada PM Justin Trudeau, tests positive for coronavirus

Amid the Coronavirus chaos, recent news has surfaced about Sophie Gregoire being tested positive for CoVID-19 infection. Gregoire, the wife of Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, was tested after her return from a visit to the UK.

As per the statement provided by the PM’s communication director, Cameron Ahmad, Gregoire is following all the suggested medical advice by her health care provider. Further, she will avoid any public meetings until the infection subsides.

Currently, her symptoms remain moderate, and she will soon recover from the same. Further, the health care professionals are reaching out to individuals that had come in contact with Sophie. While the wife is dealing with the infection, the Prime Minister himself is in perfectly good health and shows no symptoms.

Ahmad further added that doctors had suggested 14-day-long isolation for both Trudeau and his wife as a precaution and to stop the spread of the virus any further. Concerning the issue, Trudeau will be addressing the residents of Canada on Friday. Canada has about 138 confirmed coronavirus cases as of 12^th March 2020, and the numbers might increase in the upcoming days. However, the officials have requested people not to panic and be vigilant.
