3 Giant Eagle Employees Test Positive For COVID-19

Giant Eagle reports that 3 of its employees are tested positive for coronavirus. 

It stated  its 1st positive coronavirus positive case within its workforce on Friday. It further adds that it is most likely that the company will be learning about more coronavirus positive cases associated with the guests and the team members in the coming weeks. 

Giant Eagle in a press release stated that it is going to sanitize all the potential infected areas as per the guidance of health departments of the county and CDC.Stores of Market District and Giant Eagle will close at evening 9 from Sunday for the purpose of sanitization and goods stocking. 

The company posted a list of potential locations that were affected in the last 14 days on its  website. These locations include North Huntingdon, New Kensington, Altoona, Wexford and Get Go(Ohio). 

One among the 3 employees who have been tested positive for coronavirus works in shifts at multiple stores. Giant Eagle has undertaken new steps for safety with the outbreak of coronavirus across the entire state. 

The company has been asking its customers for refraining from using reusable bags for shopping inside the store. It is also installing signs and indicators in the floor at all the checkout lanes which indicate required social distancing. 

The company is giving $10 million as bonus pay to all its employees for continuing their work amidst the COVID-19 outbreak for ensuring that the groceries are stocked.
