73-year-old coronavirus positive man dies in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara: Officials

According to officials, a corona positive 73-year old man died in coma in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, because of kidney failure.

Officials further reported that the old man died on Thursday when 2 more people, 1 each from Jhunjhunu and Jaipur, were tested positive for the coronavirus infection.

Both patients tested positive had a history of travelling to the Middle East.

The old man had chronic diabetes and chronic kidney issues before being admitted to a private hospital in Bhilwara before being infected with the coronavirus. This private hospital has 9 nursing staffers and 3 doctors tested positive for the COVID-19  infection.

However, the hospital authorities did not directly denote coronavirus to be the cause of the septuagenarian patient’s death. Rohit Singh, Additional Chief Secretary(Health) stated that the patient was in coma because of diabetes and kidney failure even before the outbreak of coronavirus in Bhilwara. So, it would not be apt to state that the patient died due to corona infection as it happened because of the already existing diseases.

He also added that coronavirus positive cases including the 2 from Jhunjhunu and Jaipur have been detected today, raising the state toll to 49.  The entire state is under full-fledged screening to detect the contagion.
