Coronavirus in India: Over 30 new patients take Covid-19 tally past 400; Maharashtra cases at 89

As India locks down most of its parts, suspending all of its inter-state passenger trains and buses till March 31, new positive Coronavirus cases have raised the count to a total of 400 in the country. 

By Monday morning, India has 30 new cases of the deadly virus increasing the number to 427. These positive cases were reported from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. After 3 more deaths by the virus, these numbers include a total death toll that has increased to 7 as reported on Sunday.

Maharashtra has been the most hit with 89 confirmed cases followed by Gujarat that has around 29 positive reports of the virus. A man who was declared to have recovered from the coronavirus attack has passed away in a hospital located in Mumbai. This is the 3rd death due to the coronavirus outbreak in the city. 

Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar have reported 2, 2, and 1 new cases respectively.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked citizens to observe Janata Curfew. He also stated that it was just the beginning of the battle against the virus.
