Himmat Android App for Women Safety (By Delhi Police)
Delhi, the capital of India has been facing a lot of crimes in recent years. There are a lot of crimes which are related to Women. It may be a rape, harassment, murder or any other Crime. Sometimes a few women come forward and fight with the situation. However, at times it is hard for the Women to fight with the situation.

Keeping in mind about the previous incidents in Delhi and for the security of Women in Delhi, Delhi Police have launched a Mobile Application known as “Himmat” (Meaning “Courage” in English). As the name suggests, this mobile App is to give Courage to the Women of the Indian Capital, thus Empowering the Women in Delhi. This App was launched by Home Minister Rajnath Singh on January 1, 2015. This App is easily available on Android FREE of Cost !
This App is made by IT Centre Police Head Qaurter, Delhi Police and can work on Android Version 2.2 and above.
To use the Himmat App by Delhi Police, you must know 3 Important things :
1. This App only Works on Smartphones, Tablets, and all other devices which uses Android Operating System.
2. Registration on Delhi Police Website is Mandatory.
3. Once you are registered on the Delhi Police Website, you will receive an One Time Password on your registered Mobile Number. You need to use this OTP to complete the configuration of Himmat App on your Mobile Phone/Other Android Device.
As soon as you finish with these 3 steps, you are all set to use the “Himmat” App. So, whenever you are in trouble you can raise the Himmat SOS Alert from your Android Device. As soon as you raise the SOS Alert, your Current Location (By GPS) and your Audio-Visuals are sent to the Control Room of Delhi Police. As soon as the Control Room receives your SOS Alert they will reach your location as soon as possible to get you out of trouble.
