It is located near City Palace and opens at 9:30 am to 6:00 pm except for Sunday when it remains closed. It is known as one of the most famous markets in Udaipur.

Famous Hathi Pol market is located next to City Palace is well known for its handicraft and local artefacts. The Rajasthani paintings of Pichwai and Phad could also be bought from here. The local vendors charge heavy prices for the tourists so try your best to bargain as much as you can. The market opens at 9:30 am to 5:30 pm and remains closed on Sundays. Sadhna Emporium is also based on the concept of promoting local artisans and workers as is Rajasthali but it is a joint venture of artisans especially women themselves rather than the government. It is run with the help of Seva Mandir, an NGO working for the cause of local workers for a very long time. Here one can buy handicrafts from the makers themselves removing intermediaries at very reasonable prices. It is located near Fatehpura circle it remains open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Sundays it remains closed.

Shilpgram is a small village market which provides you with an entirely different experience of shopping as compared to other city shopping hubs. It is located in the Havala village about 3 kilometres away from Udaipur. It has some best eateries of local exotic food as well the best collection of local handicraft. Shopping for handmade wooden furniture, pottery, paintings in midst of beautiful folk music and dance is a beautiful experience. The market remains open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm except on Sundays.

(9) Chetak Circle

Chetak Circle, Udaipur

Chetak Circle is located near Udaipur Railway Station on Palace Road. One can find here a huge collection of handicrafts at reasonable prices. Wooden pens, pen holders, lanterns and other stuff made of wood is quite famous among the locals as well as the tourists. Earthenware such as pots, vases, different shapes of vessels could also be bought from here. It remains open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. It is known to be among the cheap markets in Udaipur.

(10) Bapu Bazaar

Bapu Bazar, Udaipur

Bapu Bazaar is located at Jawahar Nagar and one can easily go there using public or private transportation. It is famous for its wide variety of fabrics, electronic and souvenirs. It is famous among the locals as the best place to have street food. The prices here are also reasonable. It remains closed on Sundays. It is among the famous local markets in Udaipur.

  1. Like Jaipur, Udaipur is a shopper’s paradise. Tried Hathi Pol Bazaar for miniature Rajasthani paintings, silver jewellery and printed fabric. Do not forget to buy Bandhni sarees and embroidered Mojri which are Rajasthan delights. The other markets that offer world class Mewar paintings and handicrafts are Bada Bazaar, Palace Road and Chetak Circle. Don’t forget to bargain!
