In Indian Style safari, you get to explore the desert(sand dunes) on the Camel while in Dubai Style Safari, you get to explore the desert using off road vehicle(SUV) with expert guide.
The Sam Dunes
The Sam dunes are the most exciting place around Jaisalmer, and possibly the whole of western part of Rajasthan. It is situated at about 42 km from Jaisalmer amidst the mind blowing Thar desert. The Sam Sand dunes are a popular spot for tourists because of multiple reasons. About Half a Km high, 1 kilometer wide and 3 kilometer long ,the dunes are picturesque but unreliable. The vegetation is scarce and the twirling air currents are as energetic as the sandspout in the Sahara desert.
The evening at Sam Dunes offers a splendid view of the sun set while listening to classical music instrument makes one feel the best moments of life. If you wish to enjoy the sounds and sights, the temples and the ruins, then you are advised to plan for an overnight trip. Sleeping in the open air with the cool breeze blowing across your hair, lying on the golden sand and looking at the beautiful sky is indeed a mind blowing experience.

The best time to visit Rajasthan for Dune Bashing is during Winters. From November to April are ideal for Desert Safari, with December and January the busiest months.
