Account Opening Process
Step 1: Filling up the Customer Information Section
- Open the SBI Online Account Opening Website.
- Click on Apply Now.
- Click on Start New under Customer Information Section.
- This section needs to be filled by each person who wants to open an SBI Savings Account.
- First of all you must fill Part A. Once you completely fill Part A and save the form, a Temporary Customer Reference Number (TCRN) will be generated. You must take a note of this TCRN as you will need it at a later stage to edit the form(If you wish to Edit) and for linking the customer in the Account Opening Form.
- Do remember that Subsequent parts in this step can only be filled after you successfully fill up Part A.
Step 2: Filling up the Account Information Section
- Open the SBI Online Account Opening Website.
- Click on Apply Now.
- Click on Start New under Account Information Section.
- Part A: You need to fill the Type of Account and Services Required.
- Part B: You need to fill up the Nomination Form. It is highly recommended for everyone.
Important Note:
- This section should to be filled for each account.
- First of all you must fill Part A. Once you completely fill up Part A you need to save the form, a Temporary Account Reference Number (TARN) will be generated. Make a note of this TARN as you will need it at a later stage to edit or print the form.
- Do remember that the Subsequent parts in this step can only be filled after you successfully fill up Part A.
After you successfully fill up data in the account opening form, an SMS will be sent to the mobile number of the 1st Applicant along with the TARN.
Step 3: Reading the Savings Bank Rules
Please read the rules of SBI Savings Bank Account carefully before signing the account opening form.
Information & Documents for opening SBI Bank Account
You just need to walk in to the SBI Branch in which you need to open the Account with the information and documents given below :
- POI, DOB & POA Documents required for SBI Bank Account.
- Complete Information about the Savings Bank account that you wish to open and the facilities required in the account.
- TCRN & TARN.
- Form 60, in case you don’t have the PAN Card.
- Form DA-1 (optional form), only if you wish to make a nomination. It is recommended for everyone.
- Provide 2 Recent passport-size colored photographs.
Note : You need to produce the original documents for verification purpose when you visit the SBI Branch. You must get in touch with the SBI branch within 30 days of submitting the information online. If you do not open the account within 30 days, the customer information will be deleted from SBI records.
