COVID-19: ICAI Postpones CA Exams May 2020

 

ICAI(Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) has postponed the dates for Chartered Accountant examinations May 2020 because of the outbreak of  COVID-19.

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India stated in an announcement, as per the declaration made on January 1,2020 that, due to the ongoing spurt of coronavirus pandemic and considering the maintenance good health of students, the CA exams that were initially scheduled from May 2, 2020 to May 18, 2020 shall be rescheduled from June 19, 2020 to July 4, 2020. 

The announcement further states that no change would be made in the examination schedule in case any of the above days is declared as a public holiday by any  State, Local, or Central Government. 

Candidates will have 2 of the papers, i.e. paper(s) 3 and 4 of foundation examination, of two hours duration. 

In the same way, the elective paper- 6 of the final examination, which is under the New Scheme, will have a duration of 4 hours. 

The foundation course examination and final group-II examinations will be held together on June 27 and 29, 2020, July 1 and 3 ,2020.

The post qualification course examination(INTT-AT) will be held along with the final group-II examination on June 27 and 29, 2020.

ITL and WTO examination along with four papers( Group-I of Intermediate(IPC)/Intermediate exams) shall be conducted together.
