Shilparamam : The Cultural & Traditional Hub of Hyderabad
Spread across an area of 65 acres, Shilparamam not just showcases various artefacts and traditionally made handicrafts but if also home for various performing artists. Ethnic festivals are celebrated round the year. Expressing the rural richness and creativity of Hyderabad, it has captivated the imagination of visitors.
At Shilparamam
At Shilparamam you will come across the features like crafts museum, Cultural Museum Art Gallery and Library, Multi-purpose Auditorium, Common Facility workshops and Research and Design centre along with accommodation facilities for artists and visitors. The place looks recreating with its natural lush gardens does with carefully laid out sculptures and intricately designed buildings. The facility of battery operated car is also available which takes you for an enchanting tour of Shilparamam with a minimal charge.
Charms of Shilparamam
Just as you enter Shilparamam there is a lush green lawn and surrounded by ethnic motifs and terracotta sculptures.
There is a miniature depiction of typical Indian village called the Rural Museum. Over 15 life sized huts are constructed out of baked clay and thatch. It provides urban residents, a window to rural life.
A rock garden is designed here by Subroto Basu of Shantiniketan by blending his own rock collections. The natural formations stand still in a scenic form in Rock Museum. The sculpture park at Shilparamam is one of its kind in the country.
Shilparamam shopping is famous not only among the residents of Hyderabad but also among tourists. Craftsmen from all over India display their various works here, such as traditional jewellery, hand woven saris, shawls, dresses, bed sheets, salwar kamiz ghagras kurtas carpets etc and hand crafted wooden & metal wares.
There is a beautiful lake at Shilparamam which offers the pleasure of boating in it.

Festive Season at Shilparamam
Various cultural programmes are organised during Sankranti Sandadi festival of harvest in the month of January and ten days of In the month of October. Kite festival, Navratri, South Indian festival, Ugadi, Annual Crafts festival are also celebrated in traditional ways at Shilparamam. The place can be visited at any time of the year but visiting during festivals will add more colours to the visit.
How to Reach ?
The arts and crafts village located at a distance of 14 kilometres from the heart of Hyderabad city is on the Hi-tech city of Madhapur Hyderabad, Telangana. It is like a beautiful village amidst the hustle bustle of the city.
The place is easily accessible from all parts of the country by means of rail, air or road transport. Local buses and cabs are also easily available in the city.
Timings
Active throughout the week, Shilparamam timings are from 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM. So plan your visit accordingly.
Entry Fee
Rs.40 per person for Adults.
Rs.20 per person for Children.
Rs.30 per person Boating Charges.
Rs.15 per person for Battery Operated Car.
Parking
Cellar parking is available for :
Four wheelers at Rs.20 for first 3 hours and Rs.10 per hour for rest of the time.
Two wheelers at Rs.10 for first 3 hours and Rs.5 per hour for rest of the time.
