Bihar Board 12th results land at an average 52.95 pass percentage for 2018

Today evening close to 4:30 PM, BSEB (Bihar School Examination Board) declared the results for 12th boards. The results are available for the students to check at the official website of BSEB- biharboard.ac.in. From a total 11.9 lakhs aspirants who registered to opt for the exam, 6.31 lakh pupils managed to obtain passing scores in the examination making the overall pass percentage close to 52.95%.

The total science stream students who passed the examination were about 44.7 percent while the stake was higher with commerce students where the percentage was close to 91.32. About 61.32 percent of Arts students qualified to opt for further studies by passing the board exams this year. Kalpana Kumari, who is also the NEET topper, managed to rank at the top position among the students who opted for the science stream. She scored a total of 434 marks for the 12th science stream examination.

While Kalpana bagged the fame among students from science stream, it was Nidhi Sinha who made her parents proud by scaling heights in the commerce stream with 434 marks as well. She is a students at RDS College Muzaffarpur. The topper from the arts stream was just 10 marks behind these two toppers at 424 marks. Kusum Kri who studies at the Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya at Jamui was the Arts topper.

During a press conference, the education minister of Bihar, Mr. Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma announced the results along with Anand Kishor BSEB chairman and RK Mahajan principal secretary. Each class topper for 12th board from commerce, arts and the science stream shall be awarded prize money of INR 1 lakh paired along with laptop and kindle’s e-reader. The second toppers shall be given INR 75,000 from each stream and subsequently the third toppers from each stream shall receive INR 50,000 each.

The fourth as well as fifth rank holders shall also be awarded with the prize money of INR 15,000 along with laptop. The board shall pick top 5 score holders from each of the stream in 12th board and provide them with the Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medha Chhatravriti scholarship. This scholarship shall include a stipend of INR 1,500 every month for the students who opt for higher studies via graduation or any integrated course.

Students can apply for the scholarship at the official website of BSEB or opt for scrutiny form that are being sold at various centers by BSEB at Gaya, Patna, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Muzaffarpur, Munger, Chappra, and Saharsa.
