The tall pines and cedars, white from top to bottom in snow, in the Nagin Valley are majestic.
At a height of 8957 ft, tranquility and serenity at its best are how one can define Pahalgam. Just imagine a place where there is snow stretched across roads, fields, valleys, mountains and the huge pine forests. That is Pahalgam, famous for its snowy escape, calmness, and Skiing. Betaab Valley and Tulian Lake will rejuvenate and revitalize your senses. It is also the base camp for the famous “Amarnath Yatra”.
At an altitude of 2024 meters, you get the stupendous view of the Shivalik Range from Patnitop. The ranges are exotically covered with snow during winters and reinvigorate your sights. Sighting the Holy Kailash Mountains, walking through the pine forest, visits Gourikund; enjoy trekking at Shivgarh, and visiting the nearby villages for local delights can be enthralling. Sanasar is the place for abseiling, paragliding, rock climbing, and skiing.
About 80kms from Srinagar this place remains in the lap of snow-capped peaks till the month of April, thanks to the altitude at which it is located. The rushing rivers gushing in between the snow covered steep mountains are a visual delight and at the same time, it’s resonating for ears. The awesome sight of Pangong Tso Lake will enthrall, delighting Tso Moriri Lake with its blue water, blue skies and green pastures are breathtaking.
Anantnag is also known as “Numerous Springs”, and has a reference in the Hindu epics. The city is known for its freshwater springs, green lush gardens, a variety of flowers and snow. To witness a claw formation of streams, one must visit Kokernag. Nature lovers would be stunned by its enormous beauty and a vacation will not be complete unless one visits this place.

The city is known for the brave hearts of Indian Army, but a definite must visit place in terms of Mountaineering at the Nun Mountains, the glorious valley of Suru and the snowfall. Best time to visit is March to June. The scintillating view of the snow peaked mountains is great.
