J-K: Pak violates ceasefire along LoC in Uri

On Thursday, Pakistani troops were seen violating the ceasefire along the LOC in the URI sector of the Jammu and Kashmir area. The troops resorted to firing that was unprovoked as confirmed by an official. These Pakistani troops fired mortar shells and small arms towards the Indian positions located in the Hajipeer area by the URI in the Baramulla district.

The officials also confirmed that the Indian Army came around with a fitting reply to this unprovoked aggression & retaliated in an adequate measure. As of now, no property or life loss has been reported. As per the locals, this firing started on Thursday afternoon & the outcome was a damaged house that was hit by the shell firing on the Pakistan side.

The locals also mentioned that multiple mortar shells also landed on the villages nearby which include Silikote, Mothal, Churunda, and the Hatlthanga. All of these villages are located by the official Zero Line. This latest ceasefire is a violation that spreads panic in these villages, especially for the ones that live by the LoC.

A URI resident, Irshad Ahmad, mentioned that this firing lasted for 2 hours. Post the Article 370 revocation, Pakistan has continually violated this ceasefire agreement aiming to push in militants within the Indian valleys.
